    After facing
the challenges 2020 has brought, you probably can’t wait to hit the road
again in a way that’s not only enjoyable, but safe for your family. You’re
certainly not alone. That’s one big reason interest in RVs is booming.
Traveling in an RV gives you complete control over the cleanliness of your
accommodations while giving you the freedom to escape the crowds and enjoy
the great outdoors just the way you want to.

Whether you’re interested in experiencing the RV lifestyle as a
new owner or you want to rent an RV first to see what they’re all about,
you’ll have plenty of options. Here’s a quick guide to the different types of
RVs you have to choose from:

    Towable RVs

These units are either mounted on or towed by a motorized vehicle.
Some models, such as teardrop campers, are small enough to be towed by your
family car, while others will require an SUV or pickup truck.  When
choosing a towable RV, you’ll need to know the loaded weight of the RV you’re
considering as well as the tow capacity of your vehicle. Other types of
towable RVs include travel trailers, folding camping trailers, fifth-wheel
travel trailers, truck campers and expandable travel trailers. An experienced
RV dealer can help you make the right choice.

    Motorized RVs

These are self-contained units built on a motorized chassis. There
are three main types of motorized RVs:

    • Type A

Ranging from 21 to 40 feet in length and sleeping up to six
people, these are the most spacious type of motorized RV. They feature many
of the comforts of home, including kitchens, bathrooms, living areas,
entertainment systems and central heat and air conditioning. Some also have
slideouts that can expand the living area at the touch of a button. Type A
motorhomes can also be equipped with a tow hitch to enable campers to take
along a smaller vehicle to use when they reach their
    destination.

    • Type B

Also known as van campers, these models are built using van or
panel truck shells. They’re easier to drive than larger models but still
offer standard conveniences such as a bathroom and sleeping, dining and
kitchen facilities. Full stand-up room in these units is achieved by raising
the roof or through the use of dropped floors. Type B motorhomes range in
size from 16 to 22 feet and can sleep up to four people.

    • Type C

These motorhomes are also built on an automotive van frame but
they have a wider body section and often have an area built out over the cab
that can provide an additional sleeping area. Some models have slideouts that
can expand the living area up to three feet at the touch of a button. They
may also be used to tow a smaller vehicle for use at the campers’
destination. Type C motorhomes typically range from 21 to 35 feet and can
    sleep up to eight people.
