Celebrate National Barbecue
Month!
Happy Camper Blog
There’s
nothing quite like the irresistible scent of barbecue cooking over a campfire
or grill. And since May is National Barbecue Month, it’s a great time to try
some new mouthwatering recipes on your next camping trip. So we found a few
food bloggers that generously agreed to share their favorite barbecue recipes
with you:
Grilled Hawaiian Barbecue Chicken in
Foil
Recipes that are cooked in foil are a staple for campers because
they’re so easy to prepare – and easy to clean up! Alyssa of Therecipecritic.com shared
this tasty recipe that has an island-inspired twist. As she says on her blog,
“Grilled Hawaiian Barbecue Chicken in
Foil has the most amazing sweet and tangy pineapple
barbecue sauce! It grills to perfection with sweet pineapple and
delicious summer veggies!”
Bacon BBQ Chicken Bombs
How could you go wrong when you combine bacon, BBQ sauce and chicken then add a few jalapenos for a little extra heat? Check out this zesty recipe from Dan at Cakescottage.com.
Steak Kabobs
A barbecue recipe doesn’t have to include BBQ sauce to be delicious. On
her blog Justapinch.com, Aurora McBee shares a favorite summer recipe
that makes it easy for you to get your veggies,
too!
Skillet Barbecue & Bacon Baked
Beans
Naturally, you’ll need side dishes for your barbecue, and what could be
better than baked beans? Jamie Sanders, who writes the blog Scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com,
calls her recipe
“The Best Skillet Barbecue and Bacon Baked Beans Recipe Ever!“ This dish is
great for camping because you can make it in a cast iron skillet or Dutch
oven.
Barbecued Apple
Crisp
While it may be hard to save room for dessert after all of that delicious
barbecue, this recipe just
might change your mind. It’s a sweet take on foil packet cooking courtesy of
Jacqueline at the blog Cookingwithjax.com .
Enjoy!
