Now that fall
is here, temperatures turn crisp and cool in the northern states and the heat
in the southern states starts to taper off, making terrific camping weather
across the country. We’re highlighting a few great campgrounds in the South
for traditional off-season camping as well as some up north that offer fall
camping experiences your family won’t forget.
Phoenix,
Arizona
Phoenix’s average temperatures in
October and November is a warm 70 degrees. Visitors can enjoy hiking the
White Tank mountains and the active nightlife in downtown
Phoenix.

Desert
Sands RV Park – Enjoy this “boutique style” RV Resort.
Desert Sands is truly an oasis in the desert. Guests can enjoy a dip in the

Elko,
Georgia
The average temperature in the fall for
central Georgia is a comfortable 60 degrees. Explore nearby Macon’s rich
17,000-year history, hike through ancient Indian mounds or take in the
state’s largest collection of African-American art.

around a crisp 41 degrees. The area is near of the famous Wisconsin Dells

also home to the Circus World Museum.

Hills Campground – Baraboo Hills has some of the best fall events
and activities like the Wine Walk at the end of September and OctoberFEST the
first week of October. With the cooler temps, guests can stay in a variety of
cabins, yurts, lofts of a bunk house.
Freeport,
Maine
Freeport’s fall temperatures average a
cool 43 degrees. Home to L.L. Bean and the Maine Desert, Freeport sits on the
shore of the stunning Casco Bay making it the quintessential fall getaway
destination.
