Last-Chance Winter Getaways to Snowy Escapes or Warm Retreats
We’re approaching winter’s last stretch, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay bundled up at home. Whether you’re looking to squeeze in one last cozy snow-filled cabin stay or you’re looking for a quick ditch to sunnier skies, we’ve got you covered. These last-chance winter getaways are the perfect way to close out (or escape?) the season.
First We’re Snowy –
Huttopia White Mountains – Albany, NH: A cozy winter chalet? Say less. And it’s nestled right in the scenic White Mountains of NH.
Rainbow Resort – Waubun, MN: If you’re a cross-country skier, this park has 23k onsite miles to cross. Or if you’re a snowmobiler, there are 400 public miles to be mobile over.
Flathead Harbor at Lakeside – Lakeside, MT: Only 50 minutes to Glacier National Park and surrounded by four ranges of the Rocky Mountains. Welcome the West.
Arapahoe Valley Ranch – Granby, CO: And speaking of the West. How about a park that in was just opened to the public in the winter for the first time in 40 years in 2023. And with so much beautiful wilderness around, you’ll feel lucky.
Alpine Lakes High Camp – Leavenworth, WA: This park is in such a unique backcountry location that guests have to be escorted in by a track SUV or a snowcat. Ski up to your cabin, take the family snowshoeing, whatever it is, this is a true winter getaway.
Then We’re Glowy –
Madison RV and Golf Resort – Madison, FL: We’re splitting Florida into two here. Do you like to golf, RV, and catch the sun but you don’t want to travel all the way down the huge state of Florida? This is your spot.
Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA – Sugarloaf Key, FL: If you do want to travel down the huge state of Florida, you may as well go all the way down to the Keys and soak up allll the sun at your waterfront site.
DeAnza Springs – Jacumba Hot Springs, CA: East of San Diego and spread across 500 acres of high desert, this is a desert camping adventure that will transport you away from any winter weather.
Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Crystal Beach – Crystal Beach, TX: This park is located on the Bolivar Peninsula just north of Galveston so wherever you park your ride, you’re on island time.
Desert’s Edge RV Park – Pheonix, AZ: And it wouldn’t be a traveling south for winter list if we didn’t include Arizona. This park has a retro vibe and a top USA Today Top Ten Park designation. And there may be a cactus by your site. So not wintery.
No matter if you choose snowy or glowy, want to be in a puffer coat or laying on a beach towel, there’s still time for a winter adventure before spring arrives. Pick between embracing the cold or getting as far away as possible from it and make the most of the season before it’s gone.
