America’s Top Campgrounds in 2018

What makes a
campground really great? Just ask the National Association of RV Parks
and Campgrounds (ARVC). Each year, the organization
honors four campgrounds with its prestigious “Park of the Year” award. Here
are the winners for 2018, chosen for the extraordinary guest experience they
deliver and their willingness to “go the extra mile” for their
guests:

Small Park of the Year

When a park has been in business for 65 years, you just know they’re
doing a lot of things right. Anvil Campground is
the closest RV park to Colonial Williamsburg and other major attractions like
Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA, the Jamestown Settlement,
Historic Jamestowne, America’s Revolution Museum at Yorktown and the Yorktown
Battlefield. Plus, it’s the only campground in the area to provide shuttle
service to these great attractions.

This pet-friendly campground’s RV sites are equipped with first-class
utility hookups. The park also offers premium log cabins
and cottages for rent. When you’re not out exploring the Williamsburg area,

or annual Jamboree Weekend in November and its many amenities that include a

Medium Park of the Year

This big rig-friendly park offers premium waterfront sites along
with cabin rentals and great family amenities like a pool, splash park,
jumping pillow, playground and sandy beach. But the fun doesn’t stop there.
Tall Pines Harbor has a jam-packed calendar of
events that kicks off with its annual St. Patrick’s Day chili cook-off in
March and ends with three Harbor Horror weekends in October. In between,
there are fun theme weekends like a Fairies and Trolls Weekend, the
Swine-n-Wine Annual Pig Roast and Wine Tasting, the Bayside Bluegrass
Festival, the Chincoteague Island Pony Swim and the Annual Jimmy Buffet
Cheeseburger in Paradise Beach Party. There’s a different theme every
weekend!

If you’re age 55 or better and looking for quality RV resort
living, you can’t go wrong by choosing either of these campgrounds in
southern Arizona. They each offer back-in and deluxe RV sites, park model
rentals, gated entries, free Wi-Fi and basic cable. Their onsite amenities
include an exercise room, library, woodworking and craft shops, heated pool
and spas and pickleball and bocce ball courts. Both parks also offer dozens
of clubs and activities that range from musical jam sessions and card games
to craft lessons, yoga and Zumba. They even provide shuttle service to Tucson
